"Dog Tag" Star of David

There were over 550,000 Jews proudly fighting in the United States military during WWII.  Their faith was extremely important to them especially in the European Theater of Operations where they knew they were fighting to eventually bring freedom to the Jewish people who were being persecuted by the Nazi regime throughout Europe.

For those Jewish troops fighting in Europe, many of them were encouraged to hide proof of their faith in case they were captured by the Germans.  At their request Jewish troops were given new dog tags and ID cards that either had no faith marked on them or were changed to Protestant or Catholic.  However many Jews were proud of their faith and kept their originally marked dog tags and in some cases wore a Star of David pennant like this.

It is for those brave men and women that SID44 has designed these beautiful Star of David "dog tag" pendant.  Precision cut out of stainless steel and electroplated with a "gold look."  At the top of the Star is a loop specifically designed to fit the standard USGI dog tag ball chain.  This integrated loop allows the Star to sit flush to the dog tag so that there are no pointed edges poking into the chest as it is being worn.
