"Ultimate" M43 Etool Carrier- Extra Reinforcing
One of the most common pieces of gear reenactors are always complaining about ruining is e-tool carriers. The fact is for any loadbearing kit such as belts, e-tool carriers, and canteen covers the best rule of thumb has been to buy original gear. That is, until now.
We wanted to make the strongest e-tool cover on the market that will hold up to even the most strenuous WWII reenactments. When customers purchase gear from Stand in the Door 1944, we want them to be confident that their items will hold up to just as well if not better than originals. Our motto is "buy it right and you only have to buy it once."
Each e-tool carrier features:
- Back panel of the cover is made of 2 layers of canvas to prevent ripping
- 2" interior webbing reinforcement of the wire hanger to prevent ripping
- Proper shuttle loomed heavy #8 cotton duck canvas
- Original 2" webbing
- 1" shuttle loomed binding
- Genuine MIL SPEC wire hook and rivets
- Pre shrunk to ensure the proper fit of an original m1943 e-tool
The M-1943 E-tool carrier was never the best design. Even on originals the wire hangers would constantly rip off the back panel of the carrier rendering it useless. The same design flaws are made even worse on reproductions today because they use poorly made canvas and in some cased don't even make it out of the proper thickness of canvas (heavier #8 rather than the lighter #10). As a result reproduction e-tool carriers flat out suck!
We wanted to make our e-tool carriers as strong as possible so you don't have to worry about them ripping. To ensure this we used 2 layers of canvas on the back panel of the carrier. We did this because the original 2lbs e-tool weighs heavily on the belt hanger which is sewn directly to the back panel which leads to the canvas eventually ripping around the belt hanger which is impossible to fix. The 2 layers of canvas doubles the strength of the fabric. We also extended the 2" reinforcing webbing on the inside of the carrier so that the thread from the belt hanger not only goes through the 2 layers of canvas but also the webbing. This makes it virtually impossible to rip the wire hanger off the back of the carrier.
