Escape Kit Hacksaw Blade

The highly sought after hacksaw blades that were issued in WWII Escape and Evasion Kits to aid shot-down aircrew and paratroopers while behind enemy lines.  These blades were meant to cut through bindings, locks, jail bars etc in case of capture. The contents of escape kits were often hidden somewhere on the soldier's person such as sewn into the waist band of their trousers, jacket hems, or stuffed into the top of their boots.

These blades are made from ORIGINAL black uncoated steel blade and are approximately 4" long and approximately 1/2" wide. Because these blades are 75+ years old there is some rust on portions of the steel.
